Aron Smith - BTCC - Ireland's Young Driver of the Year 2011
Aron Smith is an exciting young talent from Ireland about to make his mark in the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. His fast, flat out approach has earned him a reputation as a true racer, one who’s not afraid to attack.
A champion in karting in 2005 and 2006, Aron then focused on a career step to the BTCC with a move to Renault Clio Cup, where he enjoyed great success with numerous pole positions, race wins and fastest laps both in the UK and internationally.
The current Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the year is looking forward to proving to the UK and BTCC paddock that he is a Touring Car star of the future.

Vice Champion of the Air Asia Renault Clio Cup Championship.
(3 pole positions, 3 race wins, 9 podiums and 3 fastest laps) - BTCC race debut with team 888 at Knockhill, finished 10th out of 28 cars
- Crowned Motorsport Ireland’s Young Driver of the year 2011.
- Winner of the Graduate Cup Award.

- Rookie season of the Renault Clio Cup Championship.
2006
- Champion of the Ulster Cup Winter Series.
- Champion of the Irish Open Kart Championship.
2004 – 2005
- Wins the JICA ‘Race of Champions’ event.
- Champion of the JICA Irish Club Kart Championship.
- Voted ‘best newcomer’ by the Ulster Kart Club.
