Back to back wins for Richie Stanaway
Gravity driver Richie Stanaway completed his dominant season in the German Formula 3 Championship by sealing a double victory at Hockenheim to end with a total of 13 victories from 18 races.
The New Zealander had already sealed the championship at the previous round but he vowed that he had lost none of his motivation – and so it proved. Having taken victory in Saturday’s Race 1 he took another pole position in Sunday morning’s second qualifying session with a time of 1m 33.361s that was nearly three tenths clear of second-placed Markus Pommer.
Then Richie made the most of it in the afternoon’s Race 2, fending off all his opposition at the start before disappearing into the distance. He ended up winning the race by a massive margin of 15 seconds over second-placed Marco Sörensen to cap off his magnificent 2011.
BAM would once again like to congratulate Richie on his tremendous season and Championship title.
