Unlike other events the Le Mans race and build up lasts the whole week so for those wanting to explore this picturesque region of France during the event there is plenty to do, see and eat!
Aside from Le Mans itself, which is one of Frances largest cities Tours, Alencon and Nantes are all within an hour or so and a trip to the coast to visit Mont Saint Michelle is well worth the hour and a half drive through the picturesque countryside and tree lined boulevards.
As many people choose to take their own cars to Le Mans, often classics or sports cars, enjoy the quiet roads and village hop with great places such as La Lude with its magnificent chateau and riverside restaurants.
Closer to the racetrack you can journey into the village of Arnage and revel with the crowds on "mad Friday" or visit the cafe de 24hrs on the Mulsanne straight whilst driving the track when it returns to public roads each evening.
For those wanting something more gentle, the museum at the track is well worth a visit with its array of Le Mans cars from across the years.
Nestled in western France in the region of La Sarthe, the circuit is part public road and part permanent race track which stretches an incredible 13.5 km from village to village through incredible stretches of tarmac at the highest speeds of any race held in Europe.
Despite safety modifications the cars reach speeds of over 200mph on three occasions within a single lap passing houses, cars and woodland at an incredible and relentless pace.
The area of permanent race track from the Porsche curves to Tertre Rouge are where the majority of the 300,000 race fans can be found, in tribunes opposite the pits or on banking running both sides of the circuit amongst the campsites and fairground attractions. A trip out to the far reaches of the circuit to corners such as Indianapolis or Mulsanne is a must, BAM can arrange for your trip by road to these far outreaches with the minimum of fuss.
Fortunately for those who prefer comfort over nostalgia, the circuit has been extensively modernised over recent years and boasts an excellent Mall area behind the pits where you can dine and drink, shop and explore in comfort. To get the best from your Le Mans experience draw on BAMS 25 years experience at the event to provide a memorable race experience.
BAM can provide a variety of accommodation from the humble tent or temporary circuit hotel to chateau in the Loire, contact us for budgets and options available.
