Alonso fever! See hero worship like nowhere else as the ever growing frenzied crowd get behind their weird bearded hero! Tapas, Las Ramblas and Gaudi also put in a supporting role in the vibrant city that is Barcelona. Being just a couple of hours from the UK, Barcelona is easy and convenient to get to for most and like most other European cities is cheap too!
BAM can offer you a variety of F1 hospitality and grandstand options to ensure the very best for you and your guests.
Formula 1 Paddock Club™ in Barcelona is again located above the pits, although demand in recent years has seen additional suites provided at ground level at the pit exit and run down to the first corner. All the usual paddock club niceties are here of course but with some great add ons only present in Barcelona. To give a Spanish feel a tapas bar is provided throughout the event to graze on Jamon Iberico and manchego, washed down with a fine selection of fino and manzanilla sherries, and when your pallet needs a break wander through the extensive garden area with its outdoor tables to the double sided paddock club exclusive grandstand which allows perfect first corner perspectives and doubles up as the cars return through turns 5 and 6.
A concrete path wends its way around the perimeter and it is still possible to walk the complete circuit, however additional stands have taken away some of the general viewing areas so gang views of all corners is not so easy any more.
Barcelona probably has more viewing choices than just about any circuit on the calendar with numerous grandstands and a variety of general admission. That said covered grandstands are limited to the main straight and one or two temporary stands in and around the final corners. The remaining stands offer every conceivable type of view, fast slow, straight twisty. Call BAM today for advice on the stands which suit your personal preferences and budget.
Where as many Grand Prix destinations really only come alive at Grand Prix time, Barcelona lives 24/7 365 days a year, and if there was more time it would buzz then too!
Food, drink, art, architecture, sun, sea, shopping…Barcelona has something for everyone! Take in the local flavour with a stroll down Las Ramblas and experience everything that life has to offer. Shop for a pet, plant or piano before arriving via the Christopher Columbus Statue into the port area where you can dine in the numerous waterside restaurants. Take the cable car up on to Montjuic, the home of the Spanish Grand Prix in years past and now home to the memories of the 1992 Olympic Games and the most wonderful views back across the city and beyond.
In the city we love to visit the gothic quarter, great architecture and traditional vibrant tapas bars packed day and night with tourists and locals. Wander around and find Gaudi architecture to amaze, with of course the legendary unfinished cathedral the Sagrada Familia which you can enter and clime the spires for a truly amazing experience.
The touristic but pleasant Port Olimpic has an array of clubs bars and seafood restaurants in the shadow of the cities best hotel, Hotel Arts Barcelona where most of the F1 fraternity frequent and stay.
Visit or stay in the suburbs of the city such as Sitges or Castel Defels if the throng of the city isn't your style or you need a break from the crowd.
As night falls entertainment options are abundant and varied which cater for all tastes, ask BAM on the ground for the best places and to avoid (or find) the unexpected!
BAM have the experience to ensure your stay in Barcelona exceeds your expectations.
Established in the small suburb of Montmelo, 20 kilometres north of the city, the track was first used in 1992 as the Grand Prix of the Olympic Games, and ever since it has been used heavily as the testing venue of choice for the Grand Prix teams, enjoying more F1 visits than anywhere else in the world.
As such the track throws up a few surprises, and teams and drivers have to be at their very best to stand out from the competition here.
A twisty track with a degree of elevation, abundant viewing choices both on the infield and track perimeter, the biggest question posed by a visit to the Circuit de Catalunya is where to sit for the best view. BAM have sat on every possibility so contact us today for advice on the best viewing options.
The crowd for last year’s event reached 177,000 so it’s busy busy busy, be prepared for this and you will have a great experience. The atmosphere is quite electric, especially with Fernando in a Ferrari, the stands have transformed from a sea of Renault blue and yellow into a sea of scarlet flags shirts and banners galore hang from every vantage point.
The village offers the usual array of merchandising opportunities with the additional Alonso only fan stalls providing something different.
