F1's only venture to Eastern Europe has been on the calendar now for some years & deserves to maintain its place from more emerging nations. A natural amphitheatre of a circuit notorious for being difficult to overtake & the midsummer date almost guarantee spectacular heat, challenging for driver & fans alike.
Whilst not a classic venue, the Hungaroring is growing in its influence on F1 & is certainly not devoid of defining season moments...who could forget 2008 when Alonso & Hamilton spectacularly fell out in the notorious pit lane qualifying incident… this race offers more than its share of incidents.
Paddock club, located above the pits and acceded either from the VIP parking or via an over bridge at the start finish line is located on top of the pit buildings with good views of the start finish line and down into the teams garages, or to the rear across the F1 paddock area. Suites give viewing options directly from table sides so there is no need to venture far from the exquisite catering and bars to get great views of the action. For those who wish to do so, the dedicated paddock club grandstand is in pole position, literally with a bank of seating provided opposite p1and p2 and only a couple of minutes from your suite.
Apart from the start finish grandstands, which are tiered high and low, the remaining stands are all on the final corner or first corner approaches and offer a great atmosphere, but no protection from the elements. In our opinion for those not wanting to take hospitality options, general admission offers as good an experience, and the vast expanses of banked grass gives you plenty of space. BAM can advise and provide for all budgets and requirements so contact us today for more information.
Buda and Pest were originally two cities, split by the Danube and now combine to form a fascinating city with contrasts between old and new. Stay on the Pest side for modern 5 star hotels, shopping and restaurants, or cross the recently refurbished chain bridge to Buda and its castle and cobbled streets high above the city. Quaint tea shops, more traditional restaurants often with traditional music and costume can be found here, along with the quite bizarre but well worth a visit... Marzipan museum!
On the banks of the river you can take a day away from the races and relax with the locals at the lido come spa at the rear of the historic Gellért Hotel, or visit one of the open air clubs which start late and finish early if that’s your scene.
Budapest is a city of contrasts, day and night, and whilst the city is safe it does offer a few pitfalls and tourist traps waiting to relieve you of your money. Fear not BAM will be on hand to steer you in the right direction should you so wish.
Located around 40 minutes by road from Budapest the Hungaroring is a permanent facility used for racing throughout the year and enjoys all the facilities found at a modern F1 circuit such as extensive grandstands and great viewing opportunities. Like many of the older circuits, the Hungaroring can be circumnavigated on foot to view the track in its entirety, except for a small section at the end of the lap (you can still make your way around but will have to pass out through an interesting area of unofficial catering and merchandising).
Access can be busy with only two main roads into and out of the circuit, however use the appropriately named Bernie Avenue and sale past the crowds into the VIP car park which BAM can provide. Helicopter transfers can also be provided here at a reasonable cost.
Once inside the atmosphere can be electric with the heat and large concentrations of fans collected in grandstands and general admission around the last corner creating a sea of colour and noise.
Catering on circuit is largely bbq style and with lively bars and summer temperatures into the high 30's its well set for a great summer race!
