European Grand Prix F1 Packages

24th June 2012

Spain has replaced Italy and Germany as the only country to be blessed with 2 Grand Prix, Alonso's success drawing the crowds a second time but to a very different venue and experience.

This is Spain’s answer to Monaco, a race around the harbour redeveloped for the Americas cup to showcase the historic architecture of the wharf buildings and the ultra modern creations found adjacent in the cultural park. Coupled with great F1 hospitality, summer temperatures, the proximity of the ocean and beaches and a vibrant emerging city, a visit to Valencia is a great experience.

Viewing and hospitality at The Valencia Street Circuit
F1 hospitality Valencia

Paddock club is unique in Valencia as it has two choices of venue, an over pot facility which makes amazing use of the converted Tingadas to provide great viewing suites which not only provide views over the pitlane, with covered outdoor terraces but an enclosure to the rear where the teams locate their trucks and spares in full view of race goers.  Team management facilities, normally located away from fans are at eye level, and open for all to see.

Alternatively, choose a boat ride across the harbour to the striking Americas cup building, and wine and dine on the vast decks with a panorama of the track for an amazing and relaxing perspective on events. Of course you are not restricted to this great spot, take the boat back to the pits and enjoy the garden area at the pit entry or watch activities from the balconies.

The proximity of permanent buildings to the track mean a variety of alternative hospitality options have emerged around the circuit perimeter, some official and some private and outside the confines of the circuit. The quality of these vary but some represent fantastic value and offer great views, avoid the pitfalls and let BAM advise on the best alternatives.

After a few teething issues in the first years of the event where grandstands were erected in some poor positions, the organisers have now got there and provide viewing in only the best locations. BAM would recommend the stands at turn 5, the best corner, or turn 1 for the start action.

What's on offer in and around Valencia?
Valencia formula 1 hospitality

Often overlooked for its near neighbour Barcelona, Valencia is a great city on a mission to raise its profile and with the kudos that the Grand Prix brings it is succeeding!

Old and new sit hand in hand, the area of cobbled streets around the old bull ring contrasts with the fantastic architecture at the port, with its outlandish bridges, exhibition halls and aquarium. Traditional tapas, beachside bars, clubs and fine dining compete for your attention so you will find something to suit your taste and mood after your day at the track.

For those wanting to find something more relaxing than the city, why not stay on the Costa Brava and take a small journey into the track? Resort towns of Denia, Javea, or even Benidorm are an hour or so away so the Valencia Grand Prix offers a variety of opportunities away from the host city. Call BAM today for the options available, the best hotels and transfers.

Now in its fifth season on the calendar, the track and environs have continued to evolve, although the basic formula of turning the streets into a racetrack remains the same.  One of the longest laps on the calendar and with every metre lined with unforgiving Armco barriers Valencia presents a real challenge for man and machine.

Tight blind corners, a trip across a swing bridge and a high speed sweep down the waters edge past the assembled craft give character to the track.

Being a temporary facility, the teams have to contend with a dusty green surface that evolves through the weekend with grip levels changing constantly as the cars lay rubber on the harbour roads, making every session from when the first wheels turn on Friday a worthwhile experience as the drivers come to terms with the changing track conditions.

Valencia is amongst the easiest tracks to get to, with access from the city on foot, by tram or taxi, the approaches are rarely too busy as the diversity of modes of transport to the circuit dissipate the crowds nicely, and the abundance of cafes and restaurants en route make getting to the circuit a pleasant experience.
